EnerSys is the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications. We manufacture and distribute reserve power and motive power batteries, battery chargers, power equipment, battery accessories and outdoor equipment enclosure solutions to customers worldwide

EnerSys was formed in late 2000 to acquire from Yuasa Corporation (Japan) its reserve power and motive power battery businesses in North and South America.

In March 2002, EnerSys acquired the reserve power and motive power business of the Energy Storage Group of Invensys plc.

In June 2005, EnerSys acquired the motive power battery business of FIAMM, S.p.A. (FIAMM), which complements our then existing European motive power business.

EnerSys also made smaller acquisitions of a producer of specialty nickel-based batteries based in Germany; a producer of lithium power sources, primarily for aerospace & defense applications located in the USA; a lead-acid battery business in Switzerland; a manufacturing facility in China, and a 97% interest in a producer of industrial batteries, located in Bulgaria.

Power AGM by EnerSys

The PowerSafe GFM battery range offers the solution for large capacity, valve regulated lead acid battery requirements. PowerSafe GFM battery's modular design concept, with its integral racking system, provides a cost effective, compact battery solution combined with a quick, simple on site installation process.

PowerSafe GFM batteries are designed using proven gas recombination technology which removes the need for regular water addition by regulating the emission of hydrogen and oxygen during charging. Oxygen evolved at the positive plates diffuses through microporous separators to the negative plates and by a series of chemical reactions within the cell, recombines to form water. Each cell incorporates its own safety valve that allows the controlled release of gas when pressure builds up within the cell.

The DataSafe NPX range of valve regulated lead acid batteries has been developed to provide optimal performance and offer superior value in high rate discharge applications.

Used primarily where high power is required for a short duration, these monoblocs are ideally suited for small UPS and general electronics applications such as security and alarms systems, booster packs, leisure and toys, etc.
